Prayer and Meditation
In the middle of a busy work week, sometimes what we really need
are a few minutes of spiritual renewal.
Come as you are, when you are able.
August 19 to September 9
6:15 to 7:00pm, doors open and music starts at 6:00, chapel and prayer garden open until 8pm.
Why Wednesday evenings?
Wednesday is, for most of us, the middle of the busy work week and a time when we are most in need of spiritual renewal and a deeper sense of connection with God.
Why a Prayer and Meditation Service?
Spiritual practices such as prayer and meditation can help us turn our attention towards God and experience a deeper sense of his presence. We can hope that in the midst of the challenges we face, this experience will provide a deep sense
of peace and a renewed sense of mission,
helping us finish the week well.
What can you expect?
We will begin with a few minutes of peaceful music, followed by a reading of scripture and a period of meditative prayer and silence. There will be prayer throughout -- mostly silent receptive prayer, not vocal prayer such as prayer requests. People can arrive whenever their schedule permits; the music will begin fifteen minutes before the service, and the chapel and prayer garden will remain open for prayer afterwards.
